About Bryan

Bryan Ley is a managing director on Northmarq’s Commercial Investment Sales team based in Los Angeles. A member of Northmarq’s National Shopping Centers Group, Bryan is one of the leading retail investment sales producers in the Western United States. He specializes in the sale of multi-tenant shopping centers, community centers, lifestyle centers, high street and urban retail and mixed-use assets. Bryan’s clients include REIT’s, national real estate firms, institutional investors, pension fund advisors, regional investors and private high net worth capital. He has completed over $14.7 billion of retail and mixed-use transactions across the Western United States, while representing many Institutional, REIT, regional and high net worth clients.

Prior to joining Northmarq, Bryant spent over 17 years at JLL and its predecessor company, HFF. He co-led JLL’s West Coast retail team, where he consistently closed some of the larger and most significant retail and mixed-use transactions on the West Coast. When Ley joined HFF in 2008, he was integral in the growth of the investment sales business in the Western U.S. and helped grow the larger retail and investment sales teams. Bryan previously also worked at Sperry Van Ness — where he was one of the leading retail investment sales brokers in the region focused on the Inland Empire of Southern California. He got his start in commercial real estate as an intern at Marcus and Millichap in 2001.

Bryan has been a member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) since 2004, where he has been involved with regional and national leadership positions. He was on the Board of Directors for the ICSC Foundation and leadership team from 2021-2025. Bryan and his wife began an annual scholarship via the ICSC Foundation in 2021, which provides four students fully sponsored attendance at the ICSC Recon Shopping Center Conference in Las Vegas each May. He is also an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).

Bryan is heavily involved with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS), holding various leadership roles including joining the board of the LLS Los Angeles chapter in 2020. He also co-chaired the Light the Night Walk and fundraising campaign in 2022 in Century City, raising more than $1.4 million for the fight against blood cancers. In addition to LLS, Bryan and his family are very involved at The Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

Bryan graduated from University of California at Riverside in 2004 with a degree in business administration.
