Dave Howard

Dave Howard is senior vice president of Debt + Equity at Northmarq’s Richmond office. In this role, he is responsible for sourcing debt and equity capital across a range of asset classes and expanding the firm’s client offerings in the region.

Dave brings a proven track record in sourcing, underwriting, and closing both income-producing and owner-occupied commercial real estate loans. His expertise spans financial modeling, valuation, credit analysis, loan documentation, and contract negotiation. He is also skilled in managing third-party vendors and building long-term client relationships to ensure successful deal execution.

With deep experience in both traditional banking and commercial mortgage banking, Dave offers a comprehensive perspective that adds value to every transaction.

Prior to joining Northmarq, Dave was the Richmond Regional Executive at Citizens and Farmers Bank, where he originated construction, permanent, and bridge financing, as well as interest rate swaps and credit facilities for leading commercial real estate developers and owners.

Dave earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in real estate and finance from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a licensed real estate broker in Virginia and has served in numerous leadership roles in civic and professional organizations, including as Board Chair of Virginia Voice in 2019.
